Doesn’t last long - filters too expensive

2.5/5
PROS
+ Does a nice job for the size and price …when it works
+ Good customer service - honors warranty (not always easy to keep valid, though).
+ Nice looking
CONS
- Unit fails after a short amount of time.
- Warranty only valid if you only use Medify brand filters, which wouldn’t be an issue, but…
- Filters are really expensive and not always available for purchase.
Loved it at first, but then they significantly raised the price of the filters, then they weren’t available for multiple months - so we had to either go without an air purifier, buy off-brand filters and void the warranty, or buy another air purifier. We opted to buy another air purifier, so this one became mostly useless to us. We ended up buying another new filter when they were finally available, then two months later the unit stopped working properly and we had to get a replacement.
Too many issues for me to recommend. Wouldn’t buy again.
Perfect for our Home!

My husband and I both work from home and we have two small dogs who are very active outside. When not playing outside, they want to hang with us and during the workday that means being in our office spaces. Living in the south, we have lots of environmental allergies year round. I have year round allergies and so does one of our dogs. Having cleaner air in our home is an absolute must. In addition to the smaller units for our office we have two MA-40 units in other areas of our home. In addition to allergies, I'm sensitive to mold. The hepa 14 filter in the MA-14 is a huge help! We recently had our carpets cleaned and the technician commented on how clean our house smelled - no dog stink. He also mentioned that he has terrible allergies and often has reactions in clients homes, especially if they have pets. He was happy to report that he had no allergenic response while he was here. Both myself and my husband have had a reduction in our daily sneeze count. Highly recommend!
Quiet, presumably effective, but the warranty is just silly

In terms of brand awareness, I first heard about Medify air purifiers because my dentist uses them. My dentist is a really, really good dentist and does a lot of research about all sorts of things, so I viewed this as a bit of shortcut for me, with a slightly asthmatic daughter and some brand-new allergies developing, in my own search for a good air purifier. Eventually a BOGO deal came along and I sprang for 2 MA-14s. So what can I say about them? They're pretty quiet, at least on their lowest power settings. In an otherwise silent room you will know that an MA-14 is in the room and running based on the whisper from the corner, but they're not obtrusive and don't interfere with anything. Heck, the heat comes on in the house and I can't hear the air purifier anymore. The MA-14s are small and don't take up much space. The blue lights are pretty, but if you don't like them you can actually turn them off, which is a nice little option. I would make some sort of comment about the quality of the filtration, but the truth is that I have no way of measuring that. I assume that they're working because they're both continuously pumping air through their HEPA filters. My allergies have been doing OK in the few weeks that I've had them, but I'm an N of 1, as they say, and I have no idea if that's the filters' doing or just my luck for the past few weeks. Talk to me again in a year.
One odd thing to note, however: for some, the prospect of a lifetime warranty might be a selling point. But it's really very silly. In order to not void the warranty, you must purchase Medify HEPA filters and only Medify HEPA filters when it's time to replace them. They recommend switching out the HEPA filter every 3 months, but let's be generous and say that you wait 6. That still adds up; a Medify HEPA filter is basically half the cost of the unit itself. Third-party filters cost half as much as those real-deal Medify filters (not counting the cost of being careful about where you get them, since there are cheap/unscrupulous third-party dealers that will sell you filters that don't actually fit an MA-14). What this means is that if you go third-party and void the warranty, you will have saved enough money in filter costs to buy another, brand-new MA-14 in 1- to 2 years' time. If your unit lasts longer than that, you come out ahead (and if it doesn't, why would you stick with the brand?). Why bother with the warranty?
Love it love it love it!

After purchasing a larger Medify air purifier for the great room a few months ago I felt that getting one for the bedroom would defiantly be beneficial. This purifier keeps my bedroom fresh and the air is so clean. I can’t help but believe that breathing fresh clean air is a positive for my general health and specifically, I can attest to improved allergy symptoms. Also, for what it’s worth, I haven’t dusted my bedroom in over a week and there is literally no dust on my furniture. That alone, right there, is reason enough to get one of these Medify Air Purifyers! Lol. Sign up for auto ship filters and keep your warranty going as well as saving some money on the cost of filters the process and keeping your air the freshest. Great company and super people to work with. They are ‘Johnny in the spot’ with any questions or concerns. This company really takes care of you AFTER your purchase which is pretty darn rare in this day and age. You seriously would not believe the level of care and customer service. I’ll never buy an air purifier or filter from any other company.
